Britney Turns to Mom for Help

With all the chaos thriving in her life lately, Britney seems to have decided to turn to her No. 1 fan for some stability: mother Lynne Spears.

The custody feud between pop singer Britney Spears and former husband Kevin Federline had some collateral victims of its own, among them Brit Brit’s mother, Lynne Spears.

Now that Britney has lost custody of her two sons, Sean Preston, 2, and Jayden James, 1, turning to her mother for some comfort must have seemed like a good idea.

According to media reports, Lynne Spears and Brit’s younger sister Jamie Lynn flew from Kentwood, La., to Los Angeles Friday evening. They were welcomed by a mighty mob of photographers at LAX.

Neither Lynne nor Jamie Lynn made any comments.

People.com reports that Lynne visited her troubled daughter at her Beverly Hills home around 3 a.m., and then the two of them drove to Britney’s new Malibu pad.

A source told People magazine about the mother-daughter reunion: “Brit really needed her mom. So Lynne flew out and they met.”

The falling out between the two women reportedly occurred in June, when Britney allegedly handed her mom a letter of warning. At the time, celebrity gossip site TMZ.com reported that the letter asked Lynne to stay away from her two grandsons “if she is taking any medications that would impair her ability to be around them.”

Britney was apparently concerned that Lynne was taking certain medication that could impair her ability to take care of the two boys.

Britney lost custody of Sean Preston and Jayden James last Monday to former husband Kevin Federline, “until further order of the court.”

Los Angeles Superior Court Commissioner Scott Gordon had previously ordered the pop singer to undergo random drug testing and to work with a parenting coach, after finding evidence of “habitual, frequent and continuous use of controlled substances and alcohol.”

She apparently did neither.

While Federline has physical custody of the children, Britney was granted monitored visitation rights, it was revealed last week. On Thursday, additional documents showed that Britney has to follow strict rules in order to enjoy the presence of her sons.

Regarding her supervised visitation rights, the document says “the monitor shall terminate visitation immediately if any conduct or action by [Spears] endangers the minor children,” according to media reports.

Commissioner Gordon has scheduled the next hearing for Oct. 26, when both Britney and K-fed need to be present in court. By that time, the two must complete three joint counseling sessions, while Britney needs to complete another three individual sessions, and twice-weekly random testing for drugs and alcohol.
