Halle Berry has been dreaming of becoming a mother for so many years that pregnancy is continuous bliss – not even morning sickness can subdue her joy!
Things are finally looking good in Halle Berry’s life. Her career is as strong as ever, with a new movie titled “Things We Lost in the Fire” to be released later this month. She and Canadian model Gabriel Aubry have been together for two years and, lovely frosting on the cake, they are expecting their first child.
During a press gathering this Sunday for her upcoming film, the Academy Award winning actress seemed more than happy to answer questions about her pregnancy and said the whole experience has been nothing but pure joy for her.
“There's no bad,” the 41-year-old actress said, as quoted by People.com. “There is nothing bad about it. The morning sickness and the vomiting and the hot sweats. Nothing's been bad about it. I've loved every second of it,” she said.
Sharing with reporters that she is four months pregnant, Halle said: “I think I feel like I'm such a slave to fashion. It's a hard concept for me to fathom that I'm going to have to wear maternity clothes.”
The actress told InStyle magazine recently that the baby is due on Valentine's Day. The magazine also reports that the 41-year-old will be carefully monitored during the pregnancy, because of her age and because she is a diabetic.
Earlier this month, Halle was a guest on Oprah Winfrey’s talk show and talked extensively about her partner, trying to become pregnant and marriage plans – or lack thereof.
She told Oprah that 32-year-old Canadian-born model Gabriel Aubry entered her life at a time when she had given up on love and men. He seems to more than make up for her past bad luck in relationships.
“He does what he says he's going to do. He's very honest. I've learned to really appreciate honesty, even when you're saying what I don't want to hear, because it's the truth,” Halle confessed to Oprah.
“He's always his authentic self, never worried about being judged. He doesn't care what anybody thinks of who he is. To walk with that kind of confidence and with integrity, I know he has ability to love me, love our children, and he will do that.”
Halle also shared with Oprah’s viewers that she and Gabriel had been trying for quite a while to have a baby, before finally succeeding. After 35 negative pregnancy tests, the 36th test was finally the lucky one.
As to marriage, Halle says she and Gabriel do not need a “piece of paper” to be together. Experience seems to have taught her that making a relationship official is no guarantee for everlasting love (she was formerly married to baseball player David Justice and musician Eric Benet).
“Things We Lost in the Fire,” slated for an Oct. 19 release, is a drama directed by Susanne Bier, starring Halle Berry as a mother-of-two whose husband (played by David Duchovny) dies unexpectedly.
Grief-stricken, she turns to his childhood friend (Benicio del Toro) and together they try to mend their lives.
Halle has said that this role helped her explore feelings of motherhood.
