As the holiday season is rapidly nearing and everybody is getting ready to go on vacation, videogames and consoles have prepared themselves for the upcoming journey.
On November 28, Nintendo is scheduled to roll out two limited edition Nintendo DS packs, which will include a Mario Red Nintendo DS with the “New Super Mario Bros.” game, as well as an Ice Blue Nintendo DS, fitted with a matching carrying case and a copy of its puzzle video game “Brain Age.” The latter was developed and published by the company for their Nintendo DS handheld video game console and features a series of stroop tests, mathematical questions, and Sudoku puzzles, all aiming at keeping the users’ brain as alert as possible.
As for Sony Corporation, they have just released the PSP 3000 gaming machine, which brings forth a high-resolution screen and a built-in microphone, allowing users to call their friends when they take a break from playing or watching movies on the gadget.
Nevertheless, we have to hand it to Nintendo’s Wii console where traveler-targeted features are concerned, since they can now be found at hotels such as Marriott and Westin, as well as on a number of cruise liner, offering people games like “Wii Sports” and “Endless Ocean.”
As for what the future holds, in 2009, Nintendo will launch their DSi console in North America and Europe, which was already released in Japan at the beginning of this month.
The gadget is thinner than its predecessor Nintendo DS Lite by 12 percent and features two VGA cameras, a larger screen than the Lite’s one and improved speakers.
