Jessica Simpson, who is currently dating Dallas Cowboys quarterback, couldn't help but comment upon her boyfriend's ex girlfriend Carrie Underwood's claims in an Allure Magazine interview, that he still calls her.
Although Underwood did not exactly say that Romo is still calling her, her interpretable remarks were obviously aimed at Simpson.
"The phone will ring and it’ll be him, and I’ll maybe not answer," the American Idol winner said. however, Underwood might have possibly meant that in a scenario where Romo might call her, she might not answer.
Taking Underwood's comment seriously, Simpson admitted that she checked his phone records to see he really was calling his ex-girlfriend. Simpson, who just became the new face of a new beer brand, told a radio station in an interview yesterday that she ended up laughing with Romo at Underwood’s claim, even though she was first suspicious enough to check her boyfriend’s call log.
"I looked at his call log," she said Wednesday in an interview with a Nashville radio station. "Tony and I both laughed at that," she added. "We got a chuckle out of it."
She went on, "If Tony wanted to call her and be with her, he would."
Simpson also explained her gesture a while back when she wore a shirt that read "Real Girls Eat Meat," that she wasn't dissing Underwood, who is a vegetarian.
In a new interview with Elle, Simpson seems to be touting her desirability while oversharing yet again about her relationship with Romo. One of the reasons the two were rumored to have broken up, was another oversharing session in a June interview with Glamour magazine when she called Romo her "future husband," opening up about the details of their first date.
The interview reportedly led Romo to break up with her temporarily. She should probably learn not to talk about him and keep her feelings to herself. For the time being though, Simpson and Romo seem to be going strong.
"Most of the guys I dated were captivated by my heart but they had different ways of trying to get to me," Simpson told September’s Elle issue. "Tony understands me.
"He appreciates my talent," she added. "He’s the first person I’ve spiritually connected with."
Moreover, Romo is showing a lot of support while she's working on her debut country album, "Do You Know," due September 9.
"It's the cutest thing," said Simpson, who dedicated the tune "You're My Sunday" to Romo during a recent gig.
Most recently, Simpson signed on to become the spokesperson for the new Stampede Light Plus beer from Dallas-based Stampede Brewing Company. Simpson will appear in ads for the healthy beer in exchange to a 15 percent share in the brewer. The drink aims at helping girls maintain their bodies, while being able to enjoy a beer instead the usual tonic water with lemon. Besides the clothing and shoe lines she owns, Simpson has promoted zit creams and her hairdresser’s hair extensions and thinks of herself as a good entrepreneur.
