Fox News reports that the grandmother of missing Florida toddler Caylee Marie Anthony defended her daughter, who is suspected of murder, saying that the child’s mother did nothing wrong.

Cindy Anthony, the missing girl’s grandmother, told reporters Saturday that her daughter Casey was innocent and preferred to talk to the FBI, as she didn’t trust local authorities.

Cindy Anthony also added that Casey was willing to work with authorities in order to help them draw a composite sketch of a babysitter who Casey claims was taking care of the toddler before she went missing. The fact that confuses the authorities is that the disappearance was only reported after one month.

Casey’s brother, Lee Anthony, mentioned two other people who apparently knew the babysitter, Zenaida Fernandez Gonzales, but he admitted he never met Gonzalez personally. He said he never got to meet Gonzales as he didn’t live in the same house with his sister and every time he visited, his 2-year-old niece was with his mother or sister.

Cindy Anthony also implied that her daughter was afraid that something was going to happen to Caylee or other family members. She also claimed the case’s investigators treated her “like a child.”

The family of Caylee is planning to hold a prayer vigil Sunday evening, hoping for the missing 2-year-old to return home safely.

Casey is currently charged with child neglect, obstructing a criminal investigation and making false official statements. She was also named a person of interest in what Florida prosecutors say is beginning to look like a homicide investigation. Her bail was set at $500,000.
