MobileMe Outage Stretched Throughout the Weekend To Monday

MobileMe seems to be the latest in a line of problems that Apple has recently faced. The company who became known as one of the most reliable and secure ones to buy products and services from has trashed its image a little bit during the last few weeks. And just when the problems that stained the launched of the 3G iPhone were beginning to clear out, the MobileMe incident had to show up.

The new service was announced in June and was made available at the same time that Apple released its latest version of the popular iPhone together with other services and software updates. Subscribers of the company's former e-mail service, dubbed .Mac, were announced that they will be automatically upgraded to the new MobileMe service, which, besides offering e-mail, also connects all the devices a subscriber has. And this is when the problems started to appear.

People using MobileMe reported last week that they were not being able to receive e-mails, even though sending them appeared to work fine. Apple said that the whole problem was caused by the transition being “a lot rockier” then they expected. The company also said that it would do everything it can to make the service fully operational as soon as possible. However, the outage stretched until Monday, causing a lot of subscribers to bomb the forums and the blogosphere with messages showing their anger at the situation.

While Apple says that only about 1 percent of the people that are using the service are experiencing problems, a lot of people think that the situation might not be as simple as Apple wants it to seem.
