MySpace brings Video Streaming To Mobile Phones

It seems that getting by without a mobile phone is getting harder and harder in this agitated and high paced world we live in. Mobile phones started off as simple devices used to enable communication between people, but now they are a lot more than that.

Mobile phones are a fashion statement, they give away a social status and they can be used as music players, TVs and for accessing the Internet. Given the present situation, MySpace has just introduced a new feature allowing its users to stream online videos from the site directly on their mobile phones.

MySpace said that this is better for users as downloading the videos occupied a lot of space on the phone’s memory card and seemed slow and unreliable. Streaming videos online from MySpace directly on mobile phones means that even more information will be available on the fingertips of those who own a mobile phone which can connect to the Internet.

The service is offered for free, as it includes advertising in videos and with the huge traffic MySpace currently has, the deal will definitely pay off. Currently MySpace, one of the best known social networking sites, has 3 billion page views per month and 10 million monthly unique visitors. When adding up all the advertising, it is easy to imagine the sweet profit MySpace gains.

All in all, it’s easy to notice the tendency of making everything mobile phone friendly, starting from social networking sites to shopping. This just proves that mobile phones are deep in our daily routines and that they are here to stay.
