Nintendo Wii Tops Black Friday Sales On eBay

Despite being almost two-years old, Nintendo Wii is still a hit in terms of sale. According to the figures released by eBay for BlackFriday, Nintendo Wii was the most sold item. The customers bought 3,171 Nintendo Wiis for an average selling price of $349.

The second spot in the shopper’s preferences went to Wii Fit, which sold 1,059 units for an average price of $140.

According to eBay’s estimate, Sony’s PS3 was also in great demand, followed by Rock Band Video Game Bundle.

In fact, despite the economic downturn, Nintendo Wii continues to be a bestseller. According to the latest data released by the NPD Group, only in October, Nintendo sold 803,000 Wiis in the United States.

Also, last month, Electronic Arts announced  EA Sports Active a games which will be released exclusively on Nintendo’s Wii gaming console, being scheduled to hit the United States stores in March the year to come.

The fitness videogame presents itself as an alternative to going to a sports club, targeting especially women, who nowadays are focusing more and more on becoming fitter and slimmer, but who are also much too busy to squeeze in their daily routine such a time-consuming activity as attending a gym is.

But speaking about the data released by eBay, Apple’s iPod Touch was another gadget which enjoyed strong sales. Also, sales of Blu-ray/HD-DVD players increased by 147 percent from 2007 while headphones’ sales increased by 103 percent.
