Sunday morning the body of a pregnant soldier from Fort Bragg was found in a motel, in Fayetteville, North
Carolina. Authorities are investigating her death.
According to The Associated Press, the soldier was Spc.
Megan Lynn Touma, 23, and she was a dental specialist, assigned to the 19th
Replacement Company. Originally from Cold Springs, Touma was seven months
pregnant and had arrived at Fort Bragg, from a base in Germany, on June 12.
Although the Fayetteville Police Department said that her
death was suspicious, they weren’t specific. Authorities said that they didn’t
know the cause of death.
According to News 14 Carolina, the officials from Fort Bragg
made a statement in which they expressed their condolences, saying that Touma was a very good soldier and her death was very tragic.
“The loss of Spc. Touma is very tragic and
our heartfelt sympathy and prayers go out to the loved ones she leaves behind.”
Touma is the second pregnant soldier who
died in North Carolina.
Cpl. Maria Lauterbach was found dead in January. Her body was found in Marine
Cpl. Cesar Laurean's backyard. He was charged with her death.
Before being assigned to Fort
Bragg, Touma served with the U.S. Army
Dental Activity in Germany
and in Fort Drum, New York.
