“Pirates of the Caribbean” star Orlando Bloom was involved
in a minor car accident in the small hours of Friday in Los Angeles.
While he was driving a 2003 black Toyota Matrix around 2:15
a.m. on Fountain Avenue,
another motorist cut off his way and Bloom was forced to avoid him by swerving
and that maneuver ended his car bumping into a Porsche Cayenne, parked on the
side of the street.
The Los Angeles Police Department reported
that the cause of the accident had no link to alcohol or drug use and neither
speeding was involved. Also, the damages are minor.
It is still unclear whether Bloom was driving alone or had
two other female passengers in the car. Media reports that one of the alleged
girls that accompanied him suffered a cut to her neck caused by the seatbelt
and other mild injuries to her head. The other woman that was sitting on the
back seat of the car suffered a fractured neck.
The three received prompt medical attention at a nearby
hospital. The one that had a neck fracture is allegedly a childhood friend of
Bloom and he spent the night worried besides her in the hospital. E! online
quoted him as thanking the ER staff at the Cedars-Sinai
that did the best for his friend.
Orlando Bloom charmed his fans in the trilogy Lord of the
Rings and Troy.
