Paul McCartney has released his first album on the new Starbucks label, “Memory Almost Full.”
The album was released Tuesday and is now available in 10,000 Starbucks stores around the world.
The former Beatle also released the first single from “Memory Almost Full” earlier this month. The video, posted on YouTube, features actress Natalie Portman as a ghostlike being brought to life by McCartney playing a mandolin.
Starbucks Corp said in a statement it would play “Memory Almost Full,” containing 13 tracks, in a continuous loop throughout its stores. The artist’s music will be heard by more than 6 million people, the company estimated.
McCartney’s new studio album will not be available exclusively in Starbucks shops, but also in all major music retailers.
The former Beatle has been keeping up with the times in another way as well. His solo work, after the Beatles and including Wings will be available digitally, via Apple’s iTunes online music store.
