ABC has decided to cancel three of its newer shows, namely “Pushing Daisies”, “Dirty Sexy Money” and “Eli Stone”. The announcement wasn’t this direct, yet it was still obvious for the crew and cast members that their shows had been indeed cancelled. ABC will still air, however, all the episodes that have been produced so far and will continue to produce the scheduled episodes. Unfortunately for the fans of the three shows, the network didn’t order any more episodes for any future seasons.
Backstage, there are rumors that the ABC officials are still open to continue producing and airing the shows, yet the people who worked on the shows have already started to move on. The creator of “Pushing Daisies”, Bryan Fuller, said that the ABC President of Entertainment, Steve McPherson, was very cordial. He complimented the shows and the work that was put into them, he was happy with the things had turned out so far yet he was clear about the fact that his network will not be ordering any new episodes – at least not any time soon. The producers and creators of “Dirty Sexy Money” and “Eli Stone” have already notified their crew and cast members about the cancellation, and most of them have started looking for new jobs. There could be hope regarding reviving the shows, though. The show “Jericho” was cancelled by CBS, yet it was brought back after fans protested in an unconventional way for hours, throwing peanuts at the CBS building.
ABC is making some other changes regarding shows. They have bought the popular show “Scrubs” after it was cancelled by NBC, “Life on Mars” will air after “Lost” and “Grey’s Anatomy” will be followed by its spin-off, “Private Practice”.
