Pop megastar Madonna has reportedly sought legal advice so she can get out of her rocky marriage with Guy Ritchie, The New York Daily News reported.
The 49-year-old Detroit-native pop icon has contacted Paul McCartney's divorce lawyer to help her “drop the British accent”. The Times of London reported that the American pop singer-songwriter talked with Fiona Shackleton, the same divorce lawyer who helped Sir Paul McCartney keep his wealth in one piece after divorcing Heather Mills.
The legendary Beatles member only gave up about $40-50 million in his divorce settlement.
Madonna married the British movie director nearly eight years ago. The have three children together but, unfortunately, their relationship went sour.
The couple didn’t sign a prenuptial agreement, which means a 50-50 split of assets is possible, United Press International reported. Considering the fact that Madonna is worth nearly $600 million, the stakes are very high.
Fiona Shackleton, nicknamed the "steel magnolia" for her tough ways in the courtroom, has also acted on behalf of Charles, the Prince of Wales, in his divorce.
Guy Ritchie, well known for producing films such as “Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels” and “Snatch”, also prepares for the case. He reportedly contacted Forsters, a law firm less-known than the "steel magnolia", but who knows who will have the bigger name after the case ends?
