Rosie O’Donnell Says No More "Rosie Live" Show on NBC

Only five millions viewers tuned in Friday for Rosie O’Donnel’s variety show, prompting Ro to write on the Web site, rosie.com, that "there will b no more. No ratings. Bad reviews. Yet still – a thrill 4 me… If the bloggers didnt like it, I knew it didn’t work."

So far, there is no official confirmation from the NBC about possible cancellation of the show.

Rosie O’Donnel, also best known as a comedian actress, singer and author, responded to many messages on her Web site over the weekend, saying that she gave it her best shot. "Bad ratings and reviews usually mean no more," she explained. O'Donnell, however, maintains that the experiment was "still a thrill 4 me."

"Rosie Live," which aired live from New York's Little Shubert Theatre Nov. 26, attracted such guest stars as Alec Baldwin, Liza Minnelli, Ne-Yo, Alanis Morissette, Conan O'Brien, Jennifer Cody, Kathy Griffin, Jane Krakowski, Rachael Ray, Harry Connick Jr., Anti-Gravity with the Lombard Twins, Clay Aiken and Gloria Estefan.

Rosie O'Donnell made her feature film debut in "A League of Their Own."

During her fist years on "The Rosie O’Donnel Show," which ran from 1996 to 2001, she wrote her first book, entitled "Find Me" – the book reached number two on the New York Times bestseller list – and developed a reputation for charitable philanthropy. The show proved extremely successful, earning O’Donnel the title of "The Queen of Nice," for her attitude towards her guests.

In May, 1996, she received $3 million from Warner Books to write a memoir. She used the money to seed her "For All Kids" foundation to help institute national standards for day care across the country.
