A horrible discovery was made on Sunday, before 4 p.m, in a San Clemente home. Five
family members were found dead in their Orange County
home.
According to the Los Angeles Times, police said that the
bodies were discovered by some relatives at the Sea Pointe Estates house. It is
not yet known why the five persons died.
Lt. Erin Giudice from the Sheriff’s Department said that
authorities believed that the bodies had been sitting in the house for about
two weeks. The family members were a woman of about 70 or 80 years, a man and a
woman in their 40s or 50s and two female twins of about 20 years.
Giudice also said that police couldn’t rule out homicide and
suicide and they were not yet searching for a suspect.
According to KMPH Fox 26, the autopsies were scheduled for
today.
Authorities also said that investigators had to protect
themselves from the strong fumes of the bodies, by wearing breathing machines.
The last time anyone had seen the family was about 2 weeks
ago. Some patrol cars drove by the house to see if everything was alright. The
officers did not stop because nothing seemed out of place.
The Sea Pointe Estates is a community of about 75 homes,
located in San Clemente, about 65 miles from Los Angeles.
