A police officer from Silverton who shot an killed an Irish national while making a burglary call about two weeks ago has been arrested as he was accused of sexually abusing a girl. According to the Seattle Times, Marion County authorities said that a woman came Saturday at the Kaizer police station and accused Tony Gonzales of sexually abusing her daughter who is a minor.

Officer Tony Gonzales, 35, was arrested Sunday and is being held in custody without bail, facing multiple counts of sexual abuse, reported Deputy District Attorney Matt Kemmy. He also said that the case was assigned to the Salem Police Department. The Deputy District Attorney didn’t make public the victim’s name.

The Silverton officer, who is on administrative leave while the investigation regarding the shooting of Andrew Hanlon is taking place, faces a 75-month minimum sentence. Andrew Hanlon, a 20-year-old Irishman was shot and killed on June 30, after Gonzalez answered a burglary call. The 20-year-old Irishman was mentally disturbed and had lived with his sister for a year in the town of Salem.

Andrew Hanlon’s brother-in-law Nathan Heise said that Andrew used to come and knock at their door and he probably went to the wrong door in the night with the burglary call. Matt Kemmy said that the two cases were not related and the girl came at the police station after she found out from the media about Gonzales.

Officer Tony Gonzales will be arraigned Tuesday in Marion County Circuit Court.
