Several videos clips from the three-month documentary about Britney Spears’ current life have leaked so far, but Thursday People magazine released an official sneak preview of the MTV chronicle called “Britney: For the Record.”
The documentary, which started filming three months ago, reportedly starts at the singer’s home on the morning of the MTV Video Music Awards. The first moments of the documentary feature Britney’s father, Jamie, in the kitchen cooking her daughter’s meal as she prepares for the show, labeled as "the official beginning of the comeback" by the singer’s manager who is also in the kitchen.
The most interesting parts of the documentary are Britney’s open-ups about the troubles she’s been through as a struggling celebrity. She talks about her failed marriage to Kevin Federline and the fact that she chose to marry the guy “for all the wrong reasons.”
In the latest sneak at the documentary coming from People, Spears admits that she totally lost her “way, lost focus, lost myself.” The 26-year-old fallen star says why she agreed to let a camera crew follow her around and film her.
"I wasn't being seen in the light that I wanted to be seen in. ... There's a lot that people don't know about me."
“Britney: For the Record” also features Britney’s discussions and confessions on topics ranging from her failed relationship with Justin Timberlake to her failed marriage to K-Fed, whit whom she has two children. She says that her mistake of letting “bad people” into her life was made because “I was lonely.”
"It's bad," she says at some point and bursts into tears. "I'm sad."
As for the influence and control of her father on her life, Britney complains that it turned her life in a “too in-control, no excitement, no passion” one.
The highly-anticipated documentary will premiere on MTV Sunday, November 30, two days before Britney releases her new LP, “Circus.”
