Beating strong competition from Brangelina's children, TomKat's two-year-old daughter Suri Cruise was voted Hollywood's hottest tot by Forbes magazine.
Following an exhaustive amount of research, Forbes named the impeccably stylish daughter of Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes the most popular celebrity child over last year's chart topper, Shiloh Jolie-Pitt, the biological daughter of Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie. From the looks of it, there is going to be a major Shiloh/Suri rivalry until the end of time. It might be just tabloids' imagination, but the two toddlers are just so close in age – and hotness – that they will be in constant competition. Who gets into the better nursery school, who gets the better score on the SATs and so on. Luckily, the people at business magazine Forbes will probably be there the whole way, tabulating childhood hotness for us.
Now in its second edition, the list ranks the top celebrity children five years old and younger based on a series of factors including media attention and parents’ popularity.
Apparently, Suri, who often appears in photos alongside her parents, was mentioned way more times in the news and blogs than three of the Jolie-Pitt children. Closely following Shiloh, Zahara placed third while the fourth spot went to Pax, who alongside Tiger Woods' daughter Sam Alexis, rounded up the top five ahead of a whopping 50 celebuspawn under the age of 5 who were considered by Forbes.
"Suri's first place ranking on the list comes from strong performances across the board. She earned the top spot for public awareness," Forbes peeps said of Suri. "[Suri] received more blog mentions than any other Tinseltown kiddie and was referenced in more than 1,300 news articles."
Already a small trendsetter, Suri has created some serious style impact by simply walking down the sidewalk in the East Village. Or hitting a Broadway show, or taking a helicopter ride with her dad.
"They're out so much," said Susan Kaufman, editor of People's StyleWatch magazine. "And she's wearing designer clothes with almost a European-influenced style."
Among the other famous children who made it in the top 10, were 3-year-old Cruz Beckham, Victoria and David Beckham's youngest kid, late Australian actor Heath Ledger's daughter Matilda Rose, Madonna and Guy Ritchie's adopted three-year-old son David Banda, Britney Spear's son Sean Preston Federline, and Sam Sheen, the daughter of Charlie Sheen and Denise Richards.
"All of these adorable children are being photographed daily. They're just so much more visible than they ever were before," noted Kaufman.
While the economy is heading toward what many predict is a recession, these adorable kids, and the desire to chronicle their upbringing, may be what people actually need to relax and "sort of turn their brain off and escape to things that make them feel good," In Touch Editor in Chief Richard Spencer, who says he's made a conscious effort in recent weeks to include more uplifting stories in his publication for this very reason, was quoted by Forbes as saying.
