Users Complain About BlackBerry Storm

The Blackberry storm, the newest phone released by research in Motion, has been on the market for two weeks and it hasn’t proved itself to be the technological revelation everybody hoped to be. Users are complaining about the new device, calling it full of bugs and most of all people complain about the stiffness of the Storm’s 3 touchscreen keyboards.

The Storm utilizes a system, called SurePress, where the entire screen of the phone acts like the button of a mouse. In theory this sounds great, but in practice, the whole thing seems slow and inefficient. In order to type an email, the user must use the screen click, as touching the screen only highlights the letter. This is incredibly annoying and it really gives the impression of hard work when typing.

The Storm has 3 keyboards depending on how the user is holding the phone. The vertical keyboard uses keys that are marked with two letters, making the whole typing process even slower and annoying. The BlackBerry Storm is not the iPhone killer everybody was waiting for and, unfortunately, older BlackBerry models seem more reliable. The BlackBerry Storm has been called the worst phone ever produced by research In Motion, as the entire device seems unfinished and untested.

People were actually hoping that Blackberry would be able to design a phone that would be able to pose a real threat to the ever so popular iPhone. Unfortunately, this is not the case and it seems that the iPhone is here to stay, as it utilizes the touchscreen technology the best.
