Robo-rat: creepy or exciting?

Scientists in the UK have come up with a robot controlled by a bundle of brain cells taken from a lab rat. They've linked the rat's brain neurons to a circuit board and have apparently got those neurons to actually control their creation. It may be unsettling for some - conjuring up images of mad scientists - but the makers of the world's first rodent robot say their work could help determine why brain disorders such as Alzheimer's develop. Susan Flory reports.
