The release day for Research in Motion’s BlackBerry Storm
has finally arrived and the device will be available, starting today, in all of
Verizon Wireless’ stores. The massive hype surrounding the product was caused
by the belief that the Storm might become the first real competition to Apple’s
iPhone; it received names such as the ‘real iPhone killer’ and the
presentations released over the past few weeks pointed out that the company
does mean business with the device, as its features appear to cover all the
aspects demanded by the high-end market segment.

New York - US stocks rallied at day's end Tuesday as energy and technology shares led the way and investors snapped up bargain basement prices.
The three major indices closed up despite a drop in confidence among homebuilders that was the lowest since record-keeping began in 1985, Bloomberg financial news service reported.
Hewlett-Packard Co jumped 14 per cent as earnings topped analysts' estimates, while Exxon Mobil Corp climbed more than 4 per cent.

The Walt Disney Co. has reached an agreement with Imax Corp.
to release five pictures on the company’s giant screens, starting with the 3-D eponymous
film adaptation of Charles Dickens’ novella “A Christmas Carol,” the studio
announced on Wednesday.
The production, helmed by Robert Zemeckis, will star Jim
Carrey and is scheduled to hit theaters on November 9, 2009. Other films may
include movies directed by Tim Burton and produced by Jerry Bruckheimer.

Washington - Congressional leaders on Thursday charged the three ailing US automakers to present a detailed "path to viability" plan before the companies can get their hands on a 25-billion-dollar emergency loan from the government.
