Los Angeles- The Detroit Pistons are the NBA's latest streak busters.
Allen Iverson scored 23 points, Rasheed Wallace had 21 with 15 rebounds, and the Pistons rallied to cool off the red-hot Cleveland Cavaliers' eight-game winning streak, 96-89 on Wednesday night.

Rome - Juventus Thursday announced plans for the construction of a new sports arena that will make them the first Italian club to host games in their a stadium they own.
The new structure is to be built where the Stadio delle Alpi now stands, in north-western Turin. It should be completed by 2011.
It will hold 40,000 fans compared to the 69,000 of the old and currently unused Delle Alpi and the 27,000 of the Stadio Olimpico, where both Juve and Torino have played since 2006.

Johannesburg - South Africa football fans are eagerly awaiting Saturday's draw for next year's Confederations Cup as they know that the draw will favour the hosts.
Bafana Bafana have been placed into Group A, but as one of four seeded teams, will face just one of either Italy or Spain and they can't be drawn into a group with Brazil.
South Africa's two other two opponents will be drawn from Iraq, New Zealand and the US.
The other group will see Egypt, Brazil and then either Italy or Spain and one of Iraq, New Zealand or the US competing in the June 14-28, 2009 competition.

Los Angeles - With one eye on the present and the other on the future, the New York Knicks made a bold move by unloading their top two scorers, Zach Randolph and Jamal Crawford, in separate trades.
The Knicks on Friday acquired forward Al Harrington from the Golden State Warriors in exchange for sharpshooting guard Crawford.
